Hay Festival at SMU presents Literature & Politics in Latin America: Conversation w/ Bogotá39 Writers

Join SMU’s Department of Languages and Literatures and Wild Detectives bookstore for an evening of lively conversation about Latin American literature and politics. Participants include Eduardo Rabasa (Mexico), Daniel Saldaña (Mexico), Juan Cardenas (Colombia), and Mónica Ojeda (Ecuador), all members of the “Bogota 39,” the top 39 Latin American writers under the age of the 39, as declared by the Hay Festival in 2017. They will be joined by literary translator Christina McSweeney (UK) and Dallas publisher Will Evans (Deep Vellum), who will moderate. Reception from 5:30-6:00, panel from 6:00-7:30.
