It’s a #WITmonth Giveaway!

A tall stack of titles by Deep Vellum publishing against a hand-painted background. All titles are authored or translated by women.
Here it is: our glorious WIT stack. How many of these amazing titles have you read?

Happy August! Or as we like to call it, Women in Translation Month. 2019 marks the sixth year of celebrating books in translation authored/translated by women, an effort begun by Meytal Radzinski. While this celebration comes from a place of great disparity in the industry (less than five percent of books published in the United States are translated; even fewer are by women), we’re always excited to see the initiative come around.

Celebration abounds at Deep Vellum. All titles on our site are 20% off, so this is a perfect time to order the book by Zahia Rahmani or Maria Gabriela Llansol you’ve been eyeing. In addition, we’ll be posting about these titles and more all month long, so sign up for our newsletter and keep checking back.

And finally, The Giveaway:

Hand holds four Deep Vellum titles in front of a backdrop of bookshelves. Left to right: Recitations, by Bae Suah (blue cover with abstract figure in yellow); Blood Sisters, by Kim Yideum (red cover with orange letters, with pink amorphous shapes); Sphinx, by Anne Garreta (pink square on white background with blue text); and Eve Out of Her Ruins, by Ananda Devi (white background with purple, green, and pink shapes).

We will be giving away a copy of these beautiful books to four lucky winners!
