Deep Vellum Welcomes Fum d'Estampa!
Deep Vellum Publishing could not be more thrilled to announce that we have acquired Fum d’Estampa, a British small press founded by translator and book designer Douglas Suttle in 2020. Established with the aim of bringing rich and imaginative Catalan literature to English-speaking audiences, Fum d’Estampa quickly declared itself an ambitious press with a discerning editorial sense and timelessly sophisticated book design. Publishing over 30 titles, and expanding into multiple languages (Norwegian, French), Fum d’Estampa became an instant staple on bookshelves of discerning readers and on awards lists all across Europe.
“We’re over the moon to welcome Fum d’Estampa’s extraordinary catalog into the Deep Vellum family” says Will Evans, Deep Vellum founder and publisher. “A perfect alignment of missions to champion global voices. Douglas Suttle’s visionary work as editor and translator has built something truly special, and we can’t wait to bring these brilliant books to even more readers worldwide!"
FdE founder and publisher, Douglas Suttle, is similarly enthusiastic:
“I am immensely proud and delighted to be bringing Fum d'Estampa Press under the Deep Vellum / Dalkey Archive umbrella. The possibility to work with Will Evans and his fantastic team is something which I believe is not only perfect for FdE, but it promises an extremely exciting future for our books, authors and translators. Through this partnership with Deep Vellum, I am looking forward to collaborating with some of the most talented people in the business to bring you even more fantastic literature in translation. Very exciting times, and much more to come.”
Fum d’Estampa titles have been distributed by Asterism in the US and Booksource in the UK, and Deep Vellum will integrate these books into distribution worldwide through Consortium, a division of the Ingram Content Group, in 2025.
