Brice Matthieussent will be making his first-ever US appearances to support the release of his debut novel in English: Revenge of the Translator, translated by (and featuring as a character!) Emma Ramadan, whose sterling translation work you may know through Anne Garréta’s Sphinx and Not One Day, as well as Fouad Laroui’s The Curious Case of Dassoukine’s Trousers (and who is currently translating Garréta’s brand-new novel Dans l’beton, which we’ll publish in Fall 2020!).
Matthieussent and Ramadan will be discussing and reading from the recently released novel titled The Revenge of the Translator, which Publisher's Weekly describes as “[a]t once a powerful satire and an ode to a collaborative art form, this delightful novel will have readers scratching their heads, retracing their steps, and delighting anew in the art of translation, including Ramadan’s own skillful work here.”
