Join English PEN on the Day of the Imprisoned Writer for an exclusive event with Ukrainian filmmaker and Deep Vellum author Oleg Sentsov following his release from prison earlier this year.
PEN centers around the world came together to support Oleg Sentsov, actively campaigning for his release with vigils outside the Embassy of Russia in London, partnering with us at Deep Vellum to publish his stories in translation by Uilleam Blacker, and highlighting his case at the English PEN Modern Literature Festival.
Welcome Oleg Sentsov to the UK for a conversation with Natalia Koliada and David Lan about his life as a filmmaker, director, and writer, along with his hopes for the future.
The discussion will be followed by a screening of the acclaimed documentary by Askold Kurov: The Trial: The State of Russia vs. Oleg Sentsov.
Tickets required for entry. Each ticket holder will receive a signed copy of Life Went on Anyway: Stories.
