John O'Brien Memorial Service

It is with a heavy heart that Chad Post, Will Evans, and the teams and boards of directors at Deep Vellum and Dalkey Archive wish to invite you to a memorial service for the late John O’Brien, founder of Dalkey Archive Press and literary firebrand, on Wednesday, December 9th at 8pm EST / 7pm CST.

Curtis White has agreed to MC, and we have a number of people lined up to say a few words about John’s life and legacy. Curtis has also suggested we treat this as a virtual wake, so please come with your favorite John-inspired drink—Guinness, whiskey sour, cosmo?—and some good Irish pub food. John was a force in all of our lives—on the world, if I’m being honest—and it’ll be great to remember and celebrate all that he accomplished.
